Little "gifts" big meanings

(Found on The Stir)

I feel like this quote is not applicable only to children giving someone they love a gift but anyone giving a gift. When someone gives you a gift you should appreciate it and be thankful that they thought of you. That they wanted to share something with you in order to show you their love. I have a small little rock that a child I cared for gave me. It's one of my favorite gifts because the reason he gave it to me. He had a rock tumbler and after a week I think it was, the rocks were all shiny and no longer dull geodes. He said that he picked that special rock for me because it was different from the others and "shiny." It was one of the sweetest gifts I ever received.

Another gift that I cherish, and still have to this day is a small yellow rose that my brother gave me. He picked it from our garden and just gave it to me. He's a sweet kid, but this was one of the best gifts ever because it was spontaneous and showed me how much he cared about me and how he was thinking of me.

So my reader, appreciate the things that you are given. Whatever that may be. Make it one of your most prized possessions. Be thankful for all the wonderful things and wonderful people in your life. Make someone's day. Show them how much you mean to them.
